The Catholic Women’s League is an international organisation involved in charitable work of all kinds. Members endeavour to exert influence in those issues rooted in social justice and peace and particularly seek to make the voice of Catholic women heard in the legislative system on issues of the Family. The League offers members the opportunity to develop and learn new skills, enabling them to fulfil their mission of service to one another, to their parish and to the church.
The CWL in Carpenders Park
The Carpenders Park branch of the CWL has been going for about 23 years (in fact, it’s the oldest group in the parish!). We try to support local and national charities, and be involved in parish activities. They meet on the second Thursday of the month at 7.00 pm and the meetings are intended to be informal, with tea and lots of chat.
They mainly raise money with cake sales, and their prime event is the Christmas party for over 60s. We are a small friendly team who welcome new members, so please do give us a try.
If you’d like to join, or would like more information, call Ann Farrell on 01923 242314.
