A Letter of Frances Novillo, Lead Chaplain seeking for Volunteers.
Dear Church leader,
I hope you and your congregation are keeping safe and well at this time. Please read on for details of our current need for new volunteers from your church, and thank you for your support.
We are grateful for the ongoing support of churches across Watford and the surrounding areas which keeps Watford Town Centre Chaplaincy going. At this time, we are in urgent need of new volunteers from the churches to support Watford’s recovery and return to work, being a reassuring presence and listening ear in the town centre for a few hours each week, walking along the High Street and the Parade, or visiting particular businesses. Training and uniform will be provided, safety will be paramount, and the commitment can be temporary (during furlough, for example).
Please would you share our invitation to volunteer with your congregation, either directly to specific individuals you feel are suited to this role, or generally to your whole congregation via an email, newsletter or however you are communicating at this time. I attach a PDF image summarising our request for volunteers, a graphic of the same and a Word document with a bit more information. I’m happy to answer any questions, or to speak at an online service or midweek meeting, to help extend the invitation. You might also like to use our film available from www.watfordtcc.org/volunteerThe main thing is getting our message out to any Christians in or near Watford who can help at this time, and we hope applications can be filled in as soon as possible – thank you for your help,
Frances Novillo, Lead Chaplain
